Mayor Bill de Blasio’s Latest Vaccine Mandate Faces Backlash

A Staten Island attorney is preparing to file a class action lawsuit in response to Mayor Bill de Blasio’s latest vaccine mandate.

The attorney, Louis Gelormino will be filing the lawsuit on behalf of all the New York City employees who do not want to be vaccinated. The recent mandate requires these employees to be vaccinated by the Dec. 27 deadline.

Dozens of New York City employees have contacted Gerlomino for his legal assistance in combating the mandate. Gerlomino plans to file the lawsuit on Dec. 17, first by requesting a temporary restraining order.

His efforts are among many to oppose the mayor’s various vaccine mandates. On Dec. 8, the union representing the city’s correction officers sued in order to stop the mandate that has been put in place for their workers.

On Dec. 7, Manhattan judge Frank Nervo ordered a hearing in regards to the mayor’s vaccine mandate for New York City workers. The hearing was granted to consider a restraining order on mandate for municipal workers, brought forth by NYPD Detective Anthony Marciano
