More than 250,000 Software Developer Jobs to Hit the Market by 2026, Study says

As the economy and job market changes, employment trends may shift. According to a new study of the US job market from Glassdoors report ‘What’s Ahead for Jobs? Five Disruptions to Watch in 2018’, several new trends will unfold during the next five years.

Training and qualification provider TheKnowledgeAcademy.com sought to uncover the future of the US job market, through an analysis of findings of the Glassdoor report.

The Knowledge Academy’s analysis of the data include the following conclusions:

  • There will be an increasing demand for tech related jobs, even among ‘non-tech’ industries, with software developers expected to create 253,400 new roles.
  • Operations managers are set to have around 205,900 new roles by 2026.
  • The US Health Care sector is predicted to have the largest growth generating more than 1.1 million new jobs.
  • By 2026, maintenance and repair workers will see the lowest increase in demand for new jobs created.
