National Guard, NYPD Patrol NYC Subway Stations Amid Crime Increase

The Metropolitan Transit Authority‘s plan to enhance safety for the nation’s largest subway system is in full gear with bag checks and a heavy police presence. The plan rolled out last week as a part of a partnership between the MTA and Gov. Kathy Hochul‘s office. The increase police presence includes the National Guard and the NYPD at select stations across the city’s 472 stations.
