DE-CIX Becomes Top Internet Exchange Point in NYC

DE-CIX recently announced that it has became the second largest Internet Exchange Point in the New York Metro Area. In addition to its latest accomplishment, DE-CIX is also now the seventh largest IXP in the country. About two years ago the company had no ranking among companies in the market. The company has become one of the fastest growing IXP’s in the country. The company focuses on aiding customers by improving Internet exchange processes. Customers are able to set up IP-peering with GlobePEER services, designed to lower prices and improves functionality and speed. GlobePEER offers access to more than 700 networks in Frankfurt from ports in New York, Istanbul and Dusseldorf. Customers can use ports at DE-CIX Frankfurt to access the US market in New York, networks in Istanbul or the Rhine-Ruhr region in Dusseldorf.

Since 2015 DE-CIX made business deals to expand its business in the NYC market. Among deals was an agreement to provide technology infrastructure services for its clients through NYI, a data center and colocation provider. The company also made a deal with cloud services company Akamai, to provide internet exchange services at 111 8th Ave in the Manhattan.

DE-CIX is Open-IX certified, and offers more access points than any other exchange service in North America. Germany-based DE-CIX operate around the globe including Spain, France, Turkey, and the United States.
