Lightower Fiber Networks acquired Columbus, Ohio-based Datacenter101. The facility, located downtown Columbus is equipped with a state-of-the-art infrastructure systems and 10,000 square-feet of space and can host small, mid-sized and large business connections.

“Datacenter101’s  facility is located in an essential connectivity point within Columbus, Ohio and this acquisition further emphasizes Lightower’s commitment to supporting  and investing in the Ohio marketplace,” Rob Shanahan, CEO of Lightower said. “We have seen tremendous demand for data center and networking services within the Columbus region. We look forward to pairing the data center needs of customers, with Lightower’s all-fiber, high performance networking services, for a complete end-to-end solution.”

The deal to acquire Datacenter101 follows Lightower’s previous business expansion announcement to boost its fiber optic services in New York City to include Staten Island. The network expansion will benefit Manhattan and New Jersey since the additional area will create a shorter path and reduce latency along the route for Lightower’s business customers who do not wish to do business inside New York City but want to provide services in the area.
