Met Gala 2016: Tech Fused With Fashion Best Choice For 2016 Theme

The 2016 Metropolitan Museum of Art‘s annual Gala to benefit the Costume Institute drew celebrities, doors and socialites from across the globe to New York City. The world renown red carpet was covered by journalists and bloggers from around the world – including myself. The 2016 theme for the gala was Manus x Machina: Fashion in an age of Technology, hosted by Anna Wintour, Vogue editor-in-chief and chair of the gala.

Choosing the man vs machine technology theme this year was an appropriate choice. Wearable including the famed Apple Watch and Fitbit have been hot items among tech lovers and fashionistas. New York City has become a major player in the tech world with the creation of Silicon Alley and a booming startup tech community to back up new investments and fill NYC’s growing population of Co-Working spaces.

The Met Gala became the stunning picture of the new face of tech for 2016. Technology lovers are no longer pocket protector video game players. Some of the world’s most photographed celebrities are obsessed with technology, apps and the latest iOS or Android system.

Regardless of your thoughts on the Met Gala, tech is being embraced in every industry, even in the creative space.
