Renovation Boosts Technology At 575 Fifth Avenue
Beacon Capital Partners and Met Life teamed up to renovate and boost technology at 575 Fifth Avenue, formerly home to L’Oreal cosmetics company. The companies hosted a tour to show off the building to industry professionals at an October open house. The 40-story building is Gold Certified by WiredScore giving tenants access to multiple fiber optic and internet service providers including Verizon, AT&T and Time Warner.
Enhanced cellular connectivity via a distributed antenna system set to be installed at the top of the building by the end of 2016.
575 Fifth Avenue includes 360,000 square feet of commercial office space for lease. The building was a part of a $25 million capital improvement program that includes a renovated lobby, using natural stone and sleek finishes. Cosmetic upgrades also includes a 6,000 square-foot conference center and a tenant lounge.
In addition to the cosmetic features, Midtown-based 575 Fifth Avenue has additional technology upgrades. A customized digital media program including weather and trending news headlines, was designed to wrap around the walls and columns throughout the space on LED screens. There’s also a three story light filled atrium for visitors to the property. Manhattan-based ESI Design, created the lobby.
CBRE is on board as the exclusive broker for the property.
“We are thrilled to represent MetLife and Beacon Capital Partners at 575 Fifth Avenue, one of the most coveted premier assets in all of Manhattan,” Gregg Rothkin, senior vice president at CBRE said. “575 Fifth Avenue has been fully occupied and off the radar for so long that most brokers have never been in the building, much less know about the flexible floor plate, the exceptional light and panoramic views of Central Park, and the Midtown skyline.”
Additional building upgrades includes digital CCTV monitoring for tenants and online guest pre-registration. 575 Fifth Ave is also a LEED and Energy Star certified property.
