Cleareon Fiber Acquires Pangaea Networks, Boosts NYC Business
New York City-based Clearon Fiber Networks has acquired Ethernet provider Pangaea Networks in an effort to boost its business in the New York City metro area. As a part of the deal, Cleareon will take over Pangaea’s operations including its facilities in New York City, New Jersey and Connecticut.
“We are very excited about how this acquisition fits our plans for the future and how well the Pangaea team and assets synergize with Cleareon. Now, in addition to our dark fiber offering, Cleareon is able to provide Ethernet and wavelength services under our service assurance layer,” Cliff Kane, Co-CEO, Cleareon said in a statement. “With Pangaea we are in a better position to address existing demand for access and transport, as well as, nascent opportunities in cloud, densification and IoT.”
Cleareon is a provider of dark fiber and Ethernet services in the New York City. The company has been strategic about its growth plans in the tr-state area. In September 2016, the company announced that it created a special advisory board to aid with its business expansion plans. Earlier in 2016, the company also established a point of presence at Digital Reality owned NYC1, NYC2 and NYC3 data centers across NYC. The connection at the data centers gave the company the ability to operate in the city, Brooklyn, Queens and New Jersey.
