Verizon Gives Customers Free Calling To France Following Attacks
New York-based Verizon Communication Inc. is giving its wireless and wireline customers free calling to France following a terror attack in Nice. More than 84 people were killed and about 100 injured when a large truck speed into a crowd of citizens celebrating the country’s annual Bastille Day.
Wireless users will incur no charges for texts or international long distance calls originating from the U.S. to France from July 14 through July 16, 2016 (applicable taxes and surcharges will apply). Home wireline telephone customers can make free calls to France from their U.S. landlines from July 14 through July 16, 2016, (applicable taxes and surcharges will apply). Verizon has been beefing up its customer service and expanding its business operations. Verizon is rumored to submit a $3 billion bid to take control of Yahoo. The deal would include Yahoo’s core internet business. Yahoo would be able to make more money on the sale of it’s real estate, patents and non-core assets.
