Black Women Talk Tech Pitch Competition Awards $100,000 to Founders [VIDEO]

Women of color are starting tech businesses and winning pitch competitions. One organization provided a platform for those women to gather together. More than 1,000 founders and tech industry leaders gathered to celebrate innovation and women of color at the annual Black Women Talk Tech conference in Manhattan.

The event, themed Roadmap to Billions, took place Feb 27-March 1, providing a place for information on how to launch, pitch and raise money for a technology or non-technology focused business. The event featured a pitch competition awarding an estimated $100,000 in prizes. The competition prizes ranged from $5,000 to $25,000 for each winner.

The event featured speakers ranging from tech founders to teen business women. Samsung Next, Microsoft, Fundr, Nike, Lowenstein Sandler are among the sponsors for the 2019 event.
