Verizon to Resell Equinix Colocation and Interconnection Services Worldwide
Verizon Enterprise Solutions announced that it is teaming up with Equinix, a company specializing in data centers including locations in New York City’s metro area, for a colocation and interconnection reseller partnership. As a part of the deal, Verizon will pair colocation and interconnection services in Equinix International Business Exchange data centers worldwide with Verizon’s security, network and advanced communications services to enable enterprises to build hybrid cloud solutions.
“This agreement provides customers with fully-integrated network, security and data center services designed to support their IT transformation,” Jim Duncan, vice president of global advanced solutions for Verizon Enterprise Solutions said in a statement. “Our network provides IT continuity across current and future IT strategies – cloud migrations and the like – and Equinix provides an interconnection point to leading cloud platforms for that transformation.”
In 2016 United Fiber & Data (UFD) teamed up with Equinix to complete its build-out at Equinix’s NY9 data center. The facility, located at 111 8th Avenue, one of the largest tech buildings in New York City, features a carrier hotel and a meet me room that is also among the biggest in the city. UFD also agreed to build dual points of entry into the building to meet customer demand and provide access to a wide range of industries. The new build-out grants NY9 customers complete access to UFD’s network. UFD also an established a presence at Equinix’s NY4 data center located in New Jersey.
