“RCN Business has a strategic focus on expanding its network and advanced telecommunications services into major data centers across the Northeast in order to offer customers more choice,” Bruce Abbott, Vice President and General Manager at RCN New York City said in a statement. “165 Halsey Street is a superior data center provider offering customers high-quality colocation options. Customers in that facility will now have the ability to directly access the full spectrum of RCN Business communications solutions.”

165 Halsey Street owns and operates 1.2 million square feet of carrier-neutral SSAE-16 certified data center space and offers its clients interconnection services.

“We welcome the addition of RCN Business to our facility,” Joseph Simone, President for Tishman Real Estate Services for 165 Halsey Street said. “RCN Business is known for delivering customized and reliable telecommunications solutions, marked by excellent service and support.”

RCN Business spent 2016 focused on expansion. Earlier in 2016, RCN teamed up with the Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority in Pennsylvania airports to provide voice and data services. In another deal, RCN teamed up with Versa Networks  to launch RCN Managed Security. The service provides cloud-based managed cybersecurity service enabling businesses to manage information security and monitor network activity.

As a part of its business model, RCN also operates its networks via Telehouse facility located at 85 10th Avenue in New York City, and 325 Hudson data center in New York City.
