New York City 5G Towers Installed

New York City is adding 5G towers to boost internet speed and coverage

New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced that the Public Design Commission will install wireless towers. The 5G towers have ensured residents that they will receive ultra-fast service. The towers are set to be 32 feet into the air. It will be planted in all of New York City’s neighborhoods. It is set to be the only 5G city in the world.

5G is the 5th generation mobile network. It is a new global wireless standard after 1G, 2G, 3G, and 4G networks. 5G enables a new kind of network that is designed to connect virtually everyone and everything together including machines, objects, and devices. A 5G tower In the simplest of terms, masts transmit data to and from a device to the wider network. They’re often designed to be as discreet as possible, so they blend in with the environment, but there’s only so much that can be done to limit the aesthetic impact.

Many cities in the world currently have 4G data services and others already using the 5th generation. “The growth from 4G to 5G will require the installation of larger pole-mounted equipment and will support making faster, higher quality service equitably available in every neighborhood in the city” the design commission stated. The towers will also implement free phone and internet service.

Verizon had announced that their 5G networks will be implanted in New York City and that their goal is to provide 5G network coverage to more than 50 percent of the United States. Along with other cell carriers.
