Nissan Altima Sketch Leaked Ahead of NY Auto Show Debut

Nissan is leaking its sketch of the new sixth generation of Altima. The 2019 Nissan Altima will make its debut at the 2018 New York International Auto Show on March 28 at the Jacob K. Javits Center in Manhattan. The official exterior sketch reveals an futuristic Altima design and gives a sneak peek at the future of design at Nissan.

The auto industry has tough competition from rideshare companies Uber and Lyft, but has not allowed it to deter designers from focusing on sleek exterior designs and innovative interiors. Nissan boasts of its technology offerings including Intelligent Mobility, a service that gives drivers extra assistance including blind spot, collision warnings and emergency braking.

The new Altima could help Nissan boost its car sales and grab the attention of new buyers. Nissan reported a four percent decline in its February 2018 sales report. Total United States sales fell 4.3 percent for Nissan Group from 135,740 units in February 2017 to 129,930 units during the same month in 2018. In spite of its decline, across categories Nissan saw a nine percent increase in SUV, Crossover and truck sales. Nissan’s Titan pickup truck saw a 25 percent increase in sales.

The New York International auto show opens to the public March 30 – April 8.
