February was the single best month in history for New York City tech startup funding, with $2.4B+ raised by companies that call the city home.

Based on the publicly available data, below are the statistics for all funding deals by stage of funding (Early-stage [Pre-Seed, Seed], Series A, Series B, and Late Stage [Series C+]), including mention of notable rounds. This analysis does not include rounds for biotech, real estate, lending startups, and debt financings.

NYC Early Stage Funding

  • The average Seed round in NYC was $2.5M
  • The median Seed round was $3.0M
  • $58.4M was invested across early stages rounds
  • 10.6% of early-stage funding nationally went to startups in NYC

NYC A Series Funding

  • The average Series A round was $15.5M
  • The median Series A round was $12.0M
  • $356.2M was invested across Series A rounds
  • 20.8% of Series A funding nationally went to startups in NYC

NYC Series B Funding

  • The average Series B round was $27.2M
  • The median Series B round was $29.0M
  • $272.3M was invested across Series B rounds

NYC Late Stage Funding

Total Startup Funding for February

  • $17B was invested in US startups across 473 deals
